What word is most commonly used in Mexico for a skidmark/skid mark? So far I have found six different words in six different reference materials. I just need the word that is most commonly used in Mexico and/or most commonly used in the different regions of Mexico.

marca de derrape
marca de freno
marca de frenazo
marca de deslizamiento
huella de patinazo
huella de frenado

For added knowledge, if anyone from any other Spanish-speaking country would like to tell us what word is most commonly used in their country, please respond. It would be great to know where each of the above words is mostly used.

In daily speech, in Mexico, both "huellas de frenado" and "marcas de frenado" would be used equally. I remember having seen in a formal document "huellas de frenado", but I don't know if this is the standard in official language.
"Patinazo" is colloquial speech, and it doesn't imply that you used the brakes.
"Deslizamiento" may mean other kind of situations, like pulling or pushing or trolling a vehicle.

By the way, "derrape" means that there was something on the pavement that made the car slide (some liquid or loose gravel, for example). Also no guarantee that they used the brakes. :)
