Is this a common term for a splitting headache?

Two dictionaries listed un fuerte dolor de cabeza and un dolor de cabeza agudo.
I like tengo la cabeza para reventar/estallar.

I don't think there is any way this is a common way of saying it since there are only 8 hits for a Google search "Quebredero de cabeza" (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22Quebredero%20de%20cabeza%22). That being said, it also looks like this phrase is mostly used in a figurative sense, not a literal sense of headache, more like "pain in the neck".

"Quebradero de cabeza" is a mess... a situation either very hard to solve or very confusing.

agree.
"Quebradero de cabeza" it's a situation or problem able to break ("quebrar") your head ("cabeza"). It's not a physical sentence. :D
