Should I be the first to ask how you ended up marrying someone that you cannot communicate with very well? :)

I'm with the Texan. :) It's exactly what I was wondering when I read your post. Maybe I should try that - marry a man who only speaks Spanish, and then I'll be forced to learn la idioma.
.....sort of like how I learned to drive a stick shift .... bought one first, then realized I didn't know how to use it .....
In any case, bienvenida!! You'll learn LOTS and LOTS here in the forums, and you'll make many wonderful friends. :D

apparently, its not that uncommon...just today, I was at church and this woman who looked as american as a happy meal led a worship song in perfect Spanish. the pastor said he was impressed and she's like, "well that's what happens when you marry a mexican. I had to be able to talk to him." I actually think it would be kind of neat, if you're willing to put in the extra effort...

I'm sorry but. I need opine above it.
I don't believe that the person has necessary to get marry with an American person or Mexican or Spain Person. I believe that the necessary of this situation is that exist love between them. Then if she wanted get married with a person who only speak Spanish, then she will has the need to learn the language although. He also can learn the English for communicate with her. If he really wants communicate with her.
It's was my own view point in the thread.
