It's the name of a language. You'd use it to make reference to that language.

Interlingua is a great idea. I'd love to have a good conversation about constructed languages. The idea seems so great as I'm trying to learn a language.

Yes, you can use it in English, for example:
Esperanto is a constructed language, created in 1887 by L. L. Zamenhof.
