No puedo montar bicicleta. ¿Qué debo hacer? Pienso aprender montar bicicleta durante el verano. Pues.....puedo montar bicicleta, pero necesito "training wheels". :o Debo montar bicicleta con no "training wheels"!

My balance is terrible, so I can't ride a bike without training wheels  it's so embarrassing...no one except my family knows I have to have training wheels...(but now ALL of you know)

check my Spanish by the way

Good luck!

Chileno, we all have been a child... some day. I had to learnt riding a bike too!

Jchen, intenta quitarte primero sólo una rueda. Aquí las llamamos mejor "ruedas laterales".

I was born in Andalucía, but I have been living in Catalonia since I was a child. It's quite difficult to maintain my Spanish clean here. I have to do great efforts, so I'm always studying Spanish grammar and words, it's easy to make mistakes with Catalonian speaking around you all the time :tired: , above all when it is so similar to Spanish, and Catalonian people don't speak a good Spanish. Sometimes I've been told: "This is a Catalonian expression", so I have tried to blot it out (?) from my Spanish vocabulary.

I was about maybe 8 or 9 but I still need training wheels....my brothers can go without it now. My little brother is only 8 and can ride without training wheels...my older brother is 15 and doesn't need it either, but I and he do not ride bikes much anymore, except my older brother rides mountain bikes in gym class. I cannot ride the bikes and I get to ride the stationary bike. I have an excuse....:P

I think I was about 8 when I learnt. I can't remember ever having training wheels. It was a case of my mum or dad pushing me from behind. I learnt pretty quickly. Well, it was either that or not riding at all.
My son is nearly 5 and is just starting to get rid of the training wheels. But then he gets a fair amount of practice now that the weather is brightening up.

When you dad or man pushing you to do something is good because you are surer in to do the things, my parther was the person who pushed me to do the training wheels, still I can remember it, when I fall of the bicle he always said me please you do it again then it for were very bother for me, because my body always finished hurt.

Erm, shouldn't that be «No sé montar bicicleta»?

Yes. Well, actually it should be "No sé montar en bicicleta"
You could say "no puedo" if you have a particular reason for not being able to ride a bike... like a broken leg for instance. :)

I must say, I learned to ride a bike with NO training Wheels very late.
I was a little afraid and ashamed, and I knew I should change to the next step, but I couldn't.
When I need to bike, I used the bike of my little sister who still had the trainining wheels giving myself (and the others) lame excuses for using a little girl's bike.
At the end I planned a complete day for "testing".
I spend the complete morning making "little" advances.
At the end of the weekend I had more confidence, one week later I was still asking me why it took me so much time to change.....
Hope it helps, Sofia. I must say it's true.
Saludos :D
