This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word (http://daily.tomisimo.org/) for April 25, 2009

fábrica (feminine noun (la)) — factory. Look up fábrica in the dictionary (http://www.tomisimo.org/dictionary/spanish_english/fabrica)

Abrieron una fábrica cerca de donde vivo, y ahora hay mucho tráfico en la calle frente a mi casa.
They opened a factory near my house and now there is a lot of traffic on the street in front of my house.

I learned this last chapter, that it means factory. For some reason it looks like "fabric". what is "fabric" in Spanish?

Es interesante distinguir entre fábrica (con acento) y fabrica (3ª p.sing. pres.ind. v. fabricar) :)

Seguro, y uno no piensa que pudiera ser problema... pero para una persona que no habla el idioma puede ser frustrante.
