So, you would put a date and time in the [countdown] tag, and then it would display how many days/hours are left until the time is reached?

On the technical side of things, I'm not sure it's very practical because the software running this forum caches each post so that it wouldn't be calculated correctly.

Oh I missread your last post, I thought you said what would one use it for.

I believe that every time you refresh the page it displays like this

Example: [countdown]5-27-2009 12:00:00 =

It looks like this 0 days, 23 hours, 8 minutes, 27 seconds
And a different one
[ countdown=4/30/2030 12:00 am]Today is my birthday!.[ /countdown] When the timer is up it will say 'Today is my birthday!'

I think its for use in Vbulletin type forums
Here is a bit of info, that I can't read I have no idea what they are talking about, im not very technical hehe:)

Thanks for the link Bob. Now I have a better idea of what you were talking about. That vBulletin modification is for vBulletin 2. A lot of things have changed between that version and the version I'm running, so I'm not sure it would work here.

You could use a ticker and get the same effect bobjenkin.

ETA: OK, not the same effect but close enough lol.

There's lots of ticker sites if you're interested in creating one :) . Gotta go!

The tickets word are very commonly in any place where the people need to support in the site, for example, I'm Engineer Computation and, when the people needs to support in their computer, they turn on one report about the issues that they need to resolve in that moment, and it is named ticket work that in Spanish is translated as Orde de trabajo, then there are sites in the website where you can get support to them, for example if you going to create one website in any host or server, and you don't know as you start in the creation of the website, you can do one ticket work contacting to the system's people of the website, then they will turn to attending you in the issues to support that you need.

I believe that this website where we everyday and sometimes we need to support in some link or I guess How may I set one picture in one post that am writing in the moment ? this only one example ok, therefore if I can realize one ticket work and the it going be to send to David to give me support above my problem.

I hope you can understand me.
