Gracias Angelica. This was an interference from the English word Stranger. The Spanish do not like to start a word with S, so they usually add an E to the front. I did remember to alter the G with a J but forgot to change S for an X. Lo siento. Es porque yo soy extranjero.:(

Nah, it isn't because you are a foreigner. Most likely you made the mistake because you don't practice much written Spanish. :)

Foráneo is not very used when talking. Forastero is very used in far west movies :). But I don't think they have the same meaning than "extranjero", which means from another country. A forastero or a foráneo can be from another place in the same country, just the same than "extraño". Extraño is most used than foráneo or forastero.

Chileno, foráneo is used in medicine? Maybe you wanted to say "forúnculo" :D

You are right Angelica, we even in our native language makes mistakes sometimes it's because sometimes we write very fast in some times, but the likely is because the people has the odd to write to as the people were born and the common language that is spoken in the community in the moment, for example ( I believe a thread seems already spoken before here) you're from Mexico D.F., I'm Carmen city are both places are in Mexico but anyhow in my place the language is more tropical than yours, you have a way to speak very different than my way to speak, I mean in the idioms Therefore I believe that in the English is more common and like as the people speak it, I can't see much different between the people who speaks English and other ones, instead of in the Spanish is there different to idioms, for example Spain's people, Chilean's people, Argentina 's people, all they speak very different although the language is the Spanish.

My husband was not born in Spain, but he has Spanish nationality. I always tell him that he is "half foreigner" (medio extranjero) :D It's a joke, of course ;)
