I just found this site today when searching for help to understand spoken Spanish better.

http://www.laits.utexas.edu/spe/beg01.html

It gives examples of native speakers from different countries, covering topics

for BEGINNERS - 'identifying basic objects', 'basic colors', 'introducing yourself to others', & more;

for INTERMEDIATE - 'Telling time' 'favorite movies actors singers', & more;

for ADVANCED - 'your most recent job', 'your experience in an accident' & more;

and for SUPERIOR - 'Living in another time period' 'role play: phone appt. with doctor' & more

And it allows you to follow along with text while you listen to the native speaker (which helps me ALOT, the visual learner that I am). I think it will help me get a natural feel of how sentences flow in simple topics. And it could quickly become a favorite for me! So glad I found it, and I hope it can help someone else out there too!:)

Yes, I should to use the intermediate level in my case too/also, but in the English.

Sorry, CrOtaLiTo, but I think that site is just for people who want help learning Spanish. I did a quick search and here are a few sites I found for you (and any others that would like help with English). I hope they help. If not, you can go to Google and search "ESL Listening Exercises" or "ESL Diaolgue Practice" or something similar and you should get numerous results.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! THIS IS WONDERFUL!!!!!!

Listening/understanding spoken Spanish has been my BIGGEST problem. When I was in Uruguay & Peru last month, it drove me CRAZY because people would say things to me and wait for me to respond, and they KNEW I SHOULD understand, but I didn't ... because I didn't understand what they were saying. But when they slowed down and explained each word to me, I realized that I SHOULD have known what they were saying. THIS IS GOING TO BE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO helpful.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad everyone enjoys the sites. It took a lot of google-ing to try and find some good sites where you could listen to native Spanish speakers in somewhat simple conversations to get the ears accustomed to the language!!
laepelba, I will be the exact same way when I go to Nicaragua this Friday! It's so embarrassing:o, but it's part of the process I guess! I just keep telling myself "one day..."!:crossfingers:

If anyone finds others, please share too. I haven't had time lately to search for any more sites!

Sometimes, it's better a few sites than a lot of them, because you can "hacerte un lío" (how would I say "hacer un lío") and at last you do nothing (or at least this is my case). I prefer a few sites and do what I'm asked to do and, when finish, look for another one. I hope it'll be helpful :)

hmmm!

The second phrase I made in English from Spanish was:

Please speak slowly because I am learning English.

I needed to understand the clients at my job. :D (Menial work, but all the same, it brought me food to the table and I gave myself a chance to learn English)

:) :rose: :kiss:
