Depend on means contar con. To trust means tener confianza en.
You can depend on someone that you don't trust. This, of course, is a perilous situation.;)

I agree with poli.

Depend on, rely on, rely upon are synonyms meaning contar con, depender de.

To trust means confiar en, tener confianza en, confiar de, etc.
