Hola todos,

I'm writing something for school and it's about a car motor. So, I need some help with all the parts of a car engine (an internal combustion engine).

Here's some than I have:

cam shaft = ?
cam = leva ??
flywheel = ?
lifters = ?
piston = pistón
cylinder = cilindro
rings = anillos ?
drive shaft = ?
differential = diferencial
stroke = ?
spark plug = bujía
spark plug wires = ?
timing belt = ?

I've got a bunch more too, but if you all could help with these that would be just wonderful.

The words with question marks are the ones I haven't been able to find.

Thanks so much.

Try here:
English - Spanish Automotive Dictionary
http://www.100autoguias.com/parts/automotive/engine/engine_parts/engine.htm

It's more detailed and you can search for other automotive terms.
Driveshaft is "Eje de transmisión" or "cardán"
Timing Belt is "Correa de la distribución" in Spain, and "Correa del tiempo" in Southamerica.

Hope it helps :D

I appreciate the information sosia. Some of the terms I mentioned must be Mexican colloquialisms (flecha, banda de tiempo). Great wesite you found for car-related vocabulary. :)
