Look at this:

Science fiction breaks free from fantasy (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8221009.stm)

In the future we might have time travel and invisibility. do you think that is really possible?

Not bad for science journalism. They managed to get as far as the third sentence before making the first factual error.

Error? Where is it? I didn't see it.

by the way, did you accept that friend request I sent you?

Hola jchen, no tengo duda que en el futuro serán posible.

Aunque probablemente no los voy a ver en mi vida.

I thought so. I didn't think time travel would be possible

Miré un programa sobre esto, quizás quisieras verlo

Why not?

Partial invisibility will be avaliable in short.
But time travel it's very difficult indeed.
I will prefer to focus on teleportation, to visit Elaina, Poli, Rusty,..... :D :D

Error? Where is it? I didn't see it.
It says:
Dr Kaku is a theoretical physicist and the co-founder of string field theory, a branch of string theory, often referred to as "the theory of everything".You can parse that two ways: it could be string field theory or the wider field of string theory which is often referred to as ToE. Either way, "the theory of everything" is a code-name for the holy grail of theoretical physics, which is a reconciliation of quantum mechanics with general relativity. The various string theories may be candidates for the title of ToE, but none of them is commonly referred to as the ToE.

In terms of the topic more generally:

For invisibility it depends on how you define it. Meta-material shielding has a fairly narrow effective range of wavelength, and currently a long way from the visible range. Even if they get it to the visible range, and cover infra-red too, an invisibility cloak would be uncomfortable if not dangerous to wear, because you wouldn't be able to radiate any heat.

Large-scale teleportation: not possible. On the scale of particles and molecules, yes, but on the scale of a person you're going to run into information-theoretic limitations (the Heisenberg-Gabor-Weyl uncertainty principle).

Time travel is a subset of teleportation, so the same limitations apply.

by the way, did you accept that friend request I sent you?I'll have a look now and see whether I can find what you're talking about.

But.. time travel already exist! Or that is what the librarian told me.

De cierto modo. Es muy fácil viajar a un minuto por minuto.

Te estaré esperando, Sosia. ;)

No sé como escribir lo siguiente en español así que lo hago en inglés...

Do you think there is a parallel dimension? OR
Do you think there are parallel planes?

If there is one, does that mean that we all are in it possibly doing what we are doing now?

Another curious question......

We have become forum "friends". Some of us have been here longer than others but still, we seem to get along well with each other. If the opportunity presented itself that we would all meet, do you think we would get along? Would we care what we looked like?

I'm just being curious.....:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Parallel fimension or planes can or cannot exists.
I have no power to communicate with those new Parallel dimensions or planes, so I don't really care. Same with UFO's. :D
If there's another parallel division, another sosia will be having fun in the Caribic while I work, so i don't want to think about it :D :D

Perhaps it's possible to meet with people of USA or Europa, but everybody it's now difficult. In 20 years will be cheaper, but then my daughter will carry me to the meeting :D :D
What we looked like? We are not in a meeting forum. If Rusty is red-haired, then his oppninion are not good enough? :D :D

have you read the Wrinkle in Time? It's kinda about like 5 dimensions or something (don't remember)
