Could you please help me with this sentence from a novel?

Escogió la joyería exacta, con mas ínfulas que prestigio, donde sabía que se vedía y se compraba sin demasiadas preguntas

She chose the right (?) jewelry, ... ... ..., where she new that things are bought and sold without too many questions.

She chose the perfect jewelry store, with more stuffed shirts than prestige, where she knew they sold and bought without too many questions.

People who put on airs are also called stuffed shirts.

Sometimes when I was little and answered back when told off, my father said:menos ínfulas, niña.
I think I had never heard that expression ever again.

Agree with you, Maria José
Heraring it is difficult, but reading is more common.
