Nursury rhymes

I am looking for some nursury rhymes in Spanish.

I work at a day-care center and many of the little kids speak spanish, and since I took Spanish in college, it would be fun to try to sing to them in Spanish. So do you know any nursury rhymes or sings for little kids in Spanish?

Well, I know Lorca wrote a childrens' play called "La niña que riega la albahaca y el príncipe preguntón." I'm fairly sure it has some parts that are intended to be sung.

Wherever you see "Cantando" or "Cantan Juntos" ("singing", "singing together")
At the end:
Niña, niña que riegas la albahaca,
¿cuántas hojitas tiene la mata?

There's not as much as I remember, but because it's short it may be more appropriate for young kids to learn. As for the tune I'm not sure. If only all the kids spoke spanish you could've acted the play for them!

I think that they're songs from a Spanish TV programme for kids. When I read your post I remembered a couple of years ago my Spanish teacher played me the one that went "Mi mono Amedio y yo..." and had a look on the net for it. Not quite nursery rhymes but thought it was worth mentioning.

"marco: de los apeninos a los andes" and "Heidi" were two Japanese anime series who ran in public spanish television some decades ago.
Form "Marco", the opening song("En un pueblo italiano") and the mono Amedio song("Mi mono Amedio y yo") are well know for every Spaniard between 20 and 60).
