Are you studying International System (m, L, kph, g) in the US?

Lenght: a table, a door, window, room in your house (ft), driveway (ft).
Mass: You, your animal (if you have one), bag of flour, salt.
Volume: anything liquid.
Speed: a ride in your dad's car, a ride on your bicycle (if you have a speedometer).
Time: time to bake a cake, to cook rice, a laundry machine cycle.

Good Luck!

I have quoted items that could be used to measure these quantities. Is that what you mean?
Some useful mnemonics for converting (roughly) between metric and imperial units.

two and a quarter pounds of jam weighs about a kilogram

a litre of water's a pint and three quarters

a metre of length is a yard and a tenth

We call the foot pound second system IMPERIAL. I expect you call it something else now!
Jam is what we put on our bread. I think its your jelly. Our jelly is your jello?

We use meter for a measuring instrument. We measure our lengths in metres

Are we united or divided by a common language??
