I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I've looked up wheat and barley (trigo and cebada), which I'm pretty sure are right, but I can't figure out how I should say wheat grass and barley grass, which is the young, new growth of the plant that you can use to make drinks etc.

Thanks.

Does hierba or yerba also means weed (grass, pot) ?

I'm no good at english, I think weed it's "mala hierba " (bad grass) but I'm not sure.

In Spain it's better to write hierba ( hierbas aromáticas, las hierbas de un jardín,..), yerba it's more for certain uses (a plant in Argentina: Yerba= las hojas secas y molidas de la yerba mate para preparar justamente el mate)

But the Spanish Language Academy accepts both (hierba/yerba) for the grass.
