Your translations are good. In case of smoking bans or other official bans
we us prohibit. Example: smoking is prohibited on a plane
In more common speech "not allowed" is perfect, so is "not permitted". Forbidden is a stronger word; it's more like taboo, or the less-used verboten.

No se permite = it's not allowed

Se prohibe = it's forbidden

I have to clear the different between the word Ban and forbidden, they together can be used in the same phrases.

I mean, I can use them in these instances.


To walk with the dirty shoes is forbidden.

To walk with the dirty shoes is ban.

Which of the two word is more appropriate use there.

pero usualmente los signos aparecen así

Qué estoy tratando de decir es que los signos que prohiben algo son así
