Can I say "many" instead "lots of"? Is it the same? I said:

There were many children,

But my book says:

There were lots of children

The sentence in Spanish is: había muchos niños...

hi irmamar - "many" and "lots of" are interchangeable, although "lots of"
is a bit informal - when in doubt use "many".

Había un montón de niños.

Había un lote de niños.

Había una pila de niños.

Habían muchos niños.

Thanks everybody. I have to translate a lot of sentences but they are informal ones. I guess there isn't any problem if I say "many" instead of "lots of". :)

I knew "bunch" with the meaning of "ramo" or "racimo". I've just seen that it means "grupo", too ;)

Well, I'll keep on asking later :D
