CAn anybody set examples with the different structures of blame
to put the blame on
to blame so for
to take the blame
to be to take the blame
etc...

1. The weather has been terrible, and I blame the government. :rolleyes:

2. The children were fighting, and as usual the boy took the blame. (= he was found to be at fault)

3. The children were fighting, and each one blamed the other for starting it.

4. I caused a road accident yesterday, and I have to take the blame.

5. The suspect was arrested by the police, but he denied he was guilty and put the blame on his friend.

6. I can't think of any more examples of how to use 'blame' and I put the blame on the cheap Spanish wine I drank last night. :rolleyes:
