I know nothing about bookkeeping, but I need a short definition for "ledger". I'd like to know if "an account book of final entry" is a good one. I don't know what "final entry" means ("entradas finales":?: - I don't know even if this term exists in Spanish ). A synonym would be good, too. :)

Thanks. :)

My dictionary says it is the principal book employed for the recording of mercantile transactions in which all debtor and creditor accounts are set down. :) I doubt whether there is a synonym.

Too long to remember, I'd need a short definition

Agree with Angelica - ledger=libro mayor
Meriam Webster definition: a book containing accounts (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ledger#) to which debits and credits are posted from books of original entry
