Trying to read thru a slow cooker manual. Would perillas be potholders?
No toque las superficies calientes. Use las asas o perillas.

thanks

Nunca había oído lo de "perillas" en el sentido de "asas". :)

I think the manual is wrong.

"Perilla" is rather used for things that turn.

La perilla de la puerta.
Las perillas de la estufa.

A pot handle should be rather "asa", "agarradera", "mango" (when it's long like that of a pan)...

As for the pieces of textile used to hold hot kitchen items, around here they're called "no-te-quemes", "guante para el horno" (when they're designed like gloves), "protectores para cosas calientes"... and sometimes also "agarraderas para cosas calientes".

Correct, but do you see the 3rd pictures the top of the blue pot? That's a perilla and not a "manija", "asa", "agarradera" and to me "mango" would be the long extension of a "sartén" :) Like the ones on the background of the blue pot picture.

slow cookers have the same lid knobs as the blue pot, so perilla would be the knob of the lid and the asas would be the handles of the pot

Is there any other word for lid knobs?

Other than what Angélica quoted? Not that I remember.

Here we say "mandos de la cocina". :)
