I'd like to know the alternatives that there are to say "hacía tiempo que...". For instance, inn this sentence:
Hacía meses que quería saber....
my book says: I had been wanting for months...
But I think that there must be another ways of saying the same (as literally as possible, please).
Thanks. :)

It has been months that I wanted.
I had been wanting for months...
(Yo) he estado queriendo por meses...

Maybe "For months I wanted to know..."
I wanted to know for months... / I wanted to know months ago... ?

I wanted to know for months... / I wanted to know months ago... ? :thinking:No good, sorry. :) (Grammatically possible, but arguably different meaning depending on context.)
