I have heard this term for a building with a high wall with a big wooden
door. Once past the door it's kind of like an oasis which houses several
small buildings and a garden. The sa'juan can be luxurious but can also be
squalid. They can be found in old Mexican towns and in Andalucia. I think
the term may refer to Old San Juan in Puerto Rico. I tried googling the
term but came up with nothing. Does the term sound familar to you?
If not, what is your work for this type of dwelling?

Isn't supposed to be zaguán?

:hmm:
zaguán.

Not sure if this quite matches the OP explanation. If you have some more context, we may be able to assist better.

I agree.

In Mexico a "zaguán" it's not the lobby but a big door (in wood or metal) at the entrance of a house or a building. It's normally a garage door and/or an entrance door for pedestrians. :)

@Poli: Despite the fact that sounds are similar, I doubt this has anything to do with any Juan, even a saint. ;)

Me ayudan vds mucho. Gracias.
