A little about me...

Ive been taking Rosetta Stone spanish lessons for a little over a week. Like the course so far but I am not learning much usefull conversational spanish so I got a learn in your car spanish cd set and a few books to supplement Rosetta stone. I study for an hour too two hours a day using the various materials I have.

I really want to learn spanish. I have two families that are friends of mine and they speak spanish. Some of the family members speak english as well so they are willing to teach me if I can get a grasp on the basics.

I hung out with one of the families yesterday and they said it was not bad teaching me because I understood a little bit and did not have to ask everything to be explained word by word so I am making progress...yay!

I bid you welcome to these forums, I hope your stay in the forums will be enjoyable.
I'm almost sure you will be able to learn the language here in the forums, already in these forums there're people studied in grammatical form, and well I believe you'll can get a little of the knowledge from them, so you are learning for yourself with the CD when you are driving.

Then you continue to listing the CD set one per day at least.

I used Rosetta Stone also. It's a great program, and a lot of times you will have questions so post them here!

Also, remember, that to say "My friends" you have to say "Mis amigos" because it's plural, and "me" is not a possessive pronoun :)

Wafflestomp' advice is in the right direction, but, the best way you can say "My friends" in Spanish is "Amigos míos" (ie., literally 'Friends of mine') (Of course in English you say "My friends" and would never say "Friends of mine" to address your friends... but that is part of 'differences' you will see in expressions.)

You can say, "tus amigos son mis amigos" (your friends are my friends) but I tell you, my friend, (te lo digo, amigo mío)...

Anyhow, don't want to get too didactic to begin with... so ask any questions you may have... :)

Thanks for all the warm welcomes and spanish speaking advice...I am totally new to this for the person that asked.

My spanish is really bad right now because I have gone too far too fast. I need to slow down and go back over some of my earlier lessons and get things right.

Estoy estudiondo mucho. So much so that I have dreams in spanish. Ive even dreamed Rosetta Stone where I am matching phrases to pictures lol.

I will be posting questions for sure if its late or something but I have a couple families that I call up daily and get help with the Rosetta Stone phrases I dont understand.

I did a little corrections in your Spanish.
Just sometimes when I'm very focused in the language, I mean, I'm so concentrated in English, sometimes I have had dreams where I'm speaking English fluently and well when I walk up early, I say, oh my god if I would can speak so well as in the dream that I had.:)
