I'd like to say:

X piensa x. Y, por su parte, opina y.

X thinks x. Y,:?:, considers y.

Thanks. :)

Por mi parte=Where I'm concerned -or- As far as I'm concerned-or As for me.
Por su parte=As for you-or-As for as you're concerned.

Thanks, Poli, I had forgotten. :duh:

Then, "Y, as far as he is concerned, believes y" would be right, wouldn't it?

Me confundo x y ejemplos. Siempre odiaba algebra:lol:.

Ejemplos: As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy he won the the prize.

Hay una conción con más o menos esa letra, "Por mi parte, te devuelvo
tu promesa de adorarme'
"As for me, I give back your promise of love"

Un ejemplo sencillo sería:

Yo quiero pintar la habitación de azul. Juan, por su parte, preferiría pintarla de color naranja.

I want to paint the room blue. As for Juan(or Where Juan is concerned), he would prefer it painted orange.

:kiss:You need to compromise: A blue ceiling and orange walls--seem Andalusian to me.
How would you translate the term "you need to compromise". Compromise
and compromiso aren't the friendliest congnates

Thank you. :)

What's wrong with algebra??? :eek::impatient:

Yo quiero pintar la habitación de azul. Juan, por su parte, preferiría pintarla de color naranja.

If the opinions are opposing, you could say it like this: "I want to paint the room blue. On the other hand, John would prefer to paint it orange." :wicked::whistling:

¿Otra vez "On the other hand"? Tú no has puesto "on the one hand", by the way.

Algebra is horrible. I prefer analysis. ;)

Can't get to the analysis without a basic understanding of Algebra. I'm teaching a 2nd year Algebra course this year - and haven't used that level of math since university over two decades ago. Ack!! Lots of studying to do!!

I used "on the other hand" on purpose. If you go to that thread, you will see my example without "on one hand", and that is why I wrote what I wrote here ... VERY intentionally!!

I'm going to read it now. There've been a lot of threads to read and I haven't been able to arrive to that one. And I have to go to sleep 'siesta' immediately, I have to do a lot of things this evening. :) Ya estoy estresada  :D
