I'm often surprised at American spellings, but this one is quite funny. Perhaps the man that painted it never went there. BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-10936604)

 But it was just "interim paint"!! :D

Btw, children from bilingual shcools here write "la skull", playing with the English meaning and the Spanish pronunciation. ;)

Mmm!
I just think the guys writing it thought to vindicate Saint Hippolitus of Rome, saying he was COOL!
Thus SHCOOL. (Logical... anybody should have thought so...)
It is just an influence of this acronym ridden Internet...! (:D)

As far as 'skull' is concerned... well, yeah... I know the kids familiarize themselves with Jamlet, Macbeth and Mckintosh... so, no wonder...

@Crotalito, just click on the links and you'll see the light! (I hope!) :)

Maybe he has an accent like Sean Connery's.

Maybe they wanted to send a subliminal message that school is cool.

Maybe all letters of the alphabet are uncool except for S and H.

Well, after consultation with the Urban Dictionary, "SH" also stands for "So High"... So the guy who painted just wanted to indicate that he had a high level of intoxication... And of course, in an illusory way he thought that was cool...

That's the bad effects of typos... it generates so much speculation and guess, and uncertainty... as well as so much lack of trust on the terminal originating the typo, that seems in order for everyone to be more careful regarding the subject, theory and practice...

At any rate... let's take it positively and learn from our mistakes and the mistakes of others to be better citizens... :)
