How I can use Went over.

Went over means me fui sobre.

I can't understand the phrase, please translate that for me.

Go over has a few meanings. In the sentence ookami wrote, it means repasar (revisar).

Hi Jessica
meeting people, like meeting chicks, it's only necesary to begin.
Principal point, like Chrish stated, it's self-confidence (I konw you're shy)
Big points
-never be in a hurry. Then you show you anxious --> they feel you desesperate --> no cool
- speaking with other people, listen to them. Answer their questions, speak normal. Don't talk about you till they ask.
-If you meet someone and she/he is kind, not engulf/absorb him/her. She/He must have other friends, you must try to find your place in his/her life.
-It doesn't go well at the first time always (same with chicks :D) but it always works. Speaking with one person must give you strengh to speak to another and so on, not to stop trying
- In the past you spoked about helping in a library and things like that. Doing that kind of stuff avoids you to speak to new persons, and give yourself more esteem.

You're clever, yu must try not to be shy and to be more self-sure.
It's easier to write it as to do it.
best luck :D:D
Sorry for my english :D :D

Doing that kind of stuff keeps you from speaking to new people and from giving yourself more self esteem.

Also Jessica you could turn your shyness and loneliness into poetry or music. The thread title reminds me of a song by Alice in Chains - Them Bones.

I feel so alone
Got enough to pick about them bones.

You recieved like 20 replies talking about shyness, how to surpass it, etc, and you answer as if anyone have talked about it?:rolleyes::rolleyes: Oh well.

Well, Ookami and Jessika, I understand you both. But the Spanish saw goes, "Del dicho al hecho hay un buen/ un gran trecho".

That is to say, it is easy to talk about how to handle something, how to resolve a problem, and yet another is to effectively handle it.

@ Jessica, is there some specific aspect of this where you are having trouble?

(This is a public forum, so you don't have to go into it, but I am just asking in terms of being able to help/assist you... besides practicing English and/or practicing Spanish...) :)

Jessica.

I believe that you haven't any trouble with your family there're who have more troubles and real troubles with their life, instead you, you have a family who love you.

You have healthy, other people don't have healthy, they really have troubles in the life.

Please you be happy and you aren't said for the your little troubles that are they so normal as any other troubles of all us.

Read my post again about fear. Being shy really is a fear. And remember to compliment a thing they have, not them directly. It doesn't sound the same and may creep them out. But saying they have a pretty ring or you love the shirt they are wearing is something that they selected because they liked it too. You have that "omg me too!" thing with them then. I think that's called a granfalloon. Where you feel a connection with someone because you have the same birthday or are both left handed. (Guilty of that one. :/ ) Anyway car salesmen use it to buddy up to people. You can use it to your advantage in life. :) I know it sounds a little manipulative, but chicks are good at manipulating people! :D Just look at the cover of any cosmo...

I'm late to the thread. Hopefully I can help some.

Quick question for you:

1) Do you have any activities you like? Hobbies? Sports? etc...?

At your age there are a couple of ways to meet new people. The easiest is sports or hobbies. It is much easier when it is a defined situation. In sports, we had a new team so it was natural to introduce yourself to everyone and get to know them. The same could apply to a band, math team, language club, whatever. Find something you like and then join a group/team/club. At that point, you have a understandable and valid reason to just walk up and say hello. Or the coach/teacher/leader, may help force an introduction which could also help you.

As Chris said, a lot of it is fear. You'd be surprised how with most people, if you just walk up and say "Hi. I'm Jessica" you will get a pleasant and normal response back. Even at your age. There are of course some snobs that will be jerks, but you can probably pick those people out already. Good luck!

She hasn't activities in her life, I believe that she has around of sixteen years old and well sometime before I asked her, if she has some kind of activity in her house or her school where she can keep her brain busy and well just she answered me that she doesn't has any kind of activity.

I don't know really if she is affected for some kind of depression nowadays.

And the ones that are not snob? they aren't jerks? I'll say it in a different way: There are of course very little people that aren't jerk, but if you're lucky you will probably be able to find them. Or you can get accustome to jerk population, and be one of them. Or you can remain with yourself, chatting with dreams and tales.

Well, I've to go, a sailor (that is going to betray Cristobal Colón in the future) is waiting for me, and I can't find my patch and pipe, neither the passage to that dream... oh, there it is.
See you.

Dostoyevsky

I can't understand so depression in her.

She has all the a children could wish in the live, there're people and specially children without parents and without anyone in their life, therefore I can see the trouble of the situation, I'm sorry for don't be agree with the question or her pink, but she has all the necessary in her life.
