This is a week (or a month sometimes?) where the Senior High School graduates celebrate their graduation, right?

I know in Spain we used to have the typical "viaje de fin de curso" which I take it is a similar type of celebratory activity.

2 questions,

1. do I have this right (in English)?
2. Is there a standard translation for the specific "Senior Beach Week" into Spanish?

(If there is such thing as a beach week for senior citizens... I take that's another kind of party?) ;)

High school graduates celebrate with prom night (as in the movie "Carrie", but generally not as bloody.) There is no traditional post-grad vacation that I know of. Graduation is usually in June not August. The semi-traditional student vacation that we celebrate in the States is spring break for college students. This is truly a dreadful holiday when many students go to some place tropical and get rip -roaring drunk and disorderly. Kids brag about things like getting drunk to the point of vomiting. Fort Lauderdale was the place for it in the past, but the town discouraged it. Now many go to Cancún instead.

Gracias, Poli... :) that's kind of the idea I was getting, although I was not that sure.
