De a dos / de dos en dos

Hoy me encontraba tratando de decir en inglés "y subí atropelladamente la escalera de a dos escalones" y me quedé en blanco ¿Cómo decimos cuando en cada zancada subimos dos o tres escalones de una sola vez? ¿Cuál es la forma más natural de describir ese movimiento frenético?

Mmm... yo diría, "I went[rushed] up the stairs two at a time" (or maybe "3 or 4 at a time...") (If I have done my exercises and want to emulate Kobe Bryant... jumping!) :D

Pero a ver que dicen los nativos ingleses... ;)

Thank you all... (a little fix, Crotalito...) (The first time I was able to jump 3 steps at a time, when I was a kid... I felt "pretty big"... nowadays that's my normal "stride" when I run up a long flight of stairs... but not as long as the loooong flight of stairs Bruce Lee jogs one step at a time at the beginning of one of his movies...) :)

'I raced up the stairs two at a time' sounds fine to me - you don't need to use the word steps, since the 'two at a time' refer back to the stairs, ok?

although at my natural snail's pace (I'm a smoker) this is an unusual event for me ;)

Well, Gracemayer, thank you... (I only smoked pipe for about a week... and after cleaning it after every usage and seeing how much tar and other stuff I had to tackle and clean... I stopped to never smoke again...) (I was playing basketball at the time, and the smoking didn't help much...)

But I can "smoke" anyone racing up any stairs... ;) :D
