can there be a shoutbox added please? I can see a lot of good uses with it. if you have a small question you can just ask it in the shoutbox and there's no need to create a thread.

I support this.

Creating a public thread allows many people to help the user who asked a question and also allows other students to profit from the posted questions and answers.

Yes I'm agree with Jessica requires, because that application could be very useful for everyone.

Ultimately, this is a question for David to decide.

I don't think this is a good idea, because it would only be useful to members who are logged on at the same time. Only they would be able to learn or contribute from such a service. If there is no way to scroll back in the dialog, or search it, to find questions and answers it's useless to those who weren't logged on.

If you want to chat immediately, there are plenty of places that provide that service. :twocents:

I have to disagree! I found this place just last night and I've already learned so much just by reading posts made by others. Like Rusty said, people who weren't online when the question was asked lose out on that. Also, a question will only be answered by the people who happen to be online at the time. A forum thread will receive more responses, and with language it's important to have a few different perspectives.

(Also a chat room environment often leads to poor grammar usage.)

Yes, it looks like you have a point there.

If one is busy, or extremely busy for some period... one can always go back and "catch up" with things, or check back on points already covered or discussed... :)

The you have pointed sounds very important and at the same time it sound some interesting for the new project in the forums.

Only it needs to be approved for the administrators.

I think this is a good idea. Not only could this be for questions, but it could be used for general chatting around as well.

I like Tomisimo just the way it is. I stopped using a language site which has a chat room because lots of users were abusing it and were more interested in other things other than learning a language. Just my:twocents:

Sometimes the people abuse in the forums, but that is normal in certain sense, in essence you can contribute with a little of your learning with us.

My doubt is.

Where did you see that kind to abuse in the forums?

Here with us to where?

It was a different forum (not Tomisimo). I'm glad to have found this forum.:)

I guessed that, but I would like to know what is the precedence of your commentary.

If you can tell me for a message in my inbox.

Thank you.

Well, see it from the staff side. It does increase the bandwith by a lot and could cause David or whichever one of you guys pays the bills to have an increase in charges for going over the bandwith limit. I know for a fact shoutboxes are a LOT of extra bandwith.

Alright, I'm agree with that, because it David implement something else in the website he will need to pays more money in the next invoices, and well just he doesn't collect anything for stay in the forums, that result frees for everyone hosted here.

But well you can negate that can be a good idea anyway.

Therefore he should to keep in a folder and later he should to thing this project again.

I don't know that is my idea everyone have a different idea.
