I've been teaching myself spanish for the past 4 or 5 months. I read your post about how to go about learning and I was glad to see that I was going about it the correct way. I kinda jumped into this thing blind. I had no idea what I was doing, so your post gave a little confidence in the fact that I was on the right track. lol I've been listening to spanish music, watching movies in spanish (sometimes with english subtitles and sometimes with spanish subtitles and, if it's a movie I've seen a hundred times, I'll watch it with no subtitles). I eat as a local mexican restaurant and sit near the kitchen to hear them speak. I have cliffnotes books and there are several websites I am learning from. I'm at the point now that I can read it but I still can't speak it very well. I have to think about it too much. I would love for you to send me the names of some good spanish musicians. I've been listening to Shakira, Tommy Torres, Winsin Y Yandel (sp?), Alejandro Sanz, and few others. Any musical suggestions would be much appreciated!
