Guess if the fact is true or false! Have fun!
![]() 1. Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient at waking you up in the morning. 2. Alfred Hitchcock didn't have a bellybutton. 3. A pack-a-day smoker will lose approximately 2 teeth every 10 years. 4. People do not get sick from cold weather; it's from being indoors a lot more. 5. When you sneeze, all bodily functions stop -- even your heart! 6. Only 7% of the population are lefties. 7. 40 people are sent to the hospital for dog bites every minute. 8. Babies are born without kneecaps. They don't appear until they are 2 to 6 years old. 9. The average person over fifty will have spent 5 years waiting in lines. 10. Humphrey Bogart was related to Princess Diana. They were seventh cousins. 11. The average housefly lives for one month. 12. 40,000 Americans are injured by toilets each year. 13. A coat hanger is 44 inches long when straightened. 14. The average computer user blinks 7 times a minute. 15. Your feet are bigger in the afternoon than the rest of the day. 16. Most of us have eaten a spider in our sleep. 17. The REAL reason ostriches stick their head in the sand is to search for water. 18. The only 2 animals that can see behind themselves without turning their heads are the rabbit and the parrot. 19. John Travolta turned down the starring roles in "An Officer and a Gentleman" and "Tootsie". 20. Michael Jackson owns the rights to the South Carolina Sate anthem. 21. In most television commercials advertising milk, a mixture of white paint and a little thinner is used in place of milk. 22. Prince Charles and Prince Williams NEVER travel on the same airplane just in case there is a crash. 23. The first Harly-Davidson motorcycle built in 1903 used a tomato can for a carburetor. 24. If coloring weren't added to Coca-Cola, it would be green. Hidden Text: Show/Hide

When I was at the 14, I had only 2 False (the lefties and the smoker).
It was very odd, so I though "todas deben ser verdaderas" and I win! saludos ![]()

I thought 3 and 6 were false, of the 13 first ones.
I found it very odd (only 2/13) so I though "All must be True" (todas deben ser verdaderas" greetings ![]()

Yo igual. Por el tipo de preguntas que eran, asumí que todas serían verdaderas.

The author of your list asserts that they are all true, but in reality the majority are not.
According to what others have researched, I submit that: 2. Every mammal has a belly button (navel). Mr. Hitchcock had a lot of abdominal surgeries, and his navel may have been sewn shut, but his associates remind us that this doesn't mean he didn't have one. 4. Viruses, not cold weather, cause sickness. If you are around people who are sick, you are at risk, whether outside or indoors. 5. Your heart neither stops or pauses when you sneeze. People have sneezed while hooked up to EKGs. There was no change in their cardiac rythm. 6. The number of left-handed people in the world is higher than 7%. It's more like 13%. There are twice as many males than females that are lefties, so maybe the percentage given was for women only. 7. Every 40 seconds a person seeks attention for dog-bite-related injuries, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 8. Babies are born with kneecaps, they just aren't ossified until later in life. This process takes about 3 years for females and 4-5 years for males. By the way, no bone is ossified at birth. It takes awhile before all of our bones are ossified. And some bones fuse together, especially those in the cranium, as we develop. We are essentially a work in progress until we are done growing! 10. The relation of Princess Diana to Mr. Bogart was through the lineage of Dr. Joseph Strong (1770-1820), his maternal ancestor. I haven't been able to verify that "seventh cousins" is an accurate statement. MANY people share a tie to Princess Diana. 11. The average lifespan of the common housefly is 15-25 days (shorter than a month). 13. Not all coat hangers are the same size, so they can't possibly all have the same length when straightened. 14. Most people state that the rate of blinks per minute is much higher than 7. Taking the average rate, 12 is closer. 15. Everyone says to shop for shoes at the end of the day, when your feet are bigger. Your feet get bigger as weight is exerted on them. They will be biggest at the end of a day of walking. They will be smallest after sleeping. 16. No such case is recorded in scientific or medical literature anywhere. There would be so many factors involved, that eating a live spider while sleeping seems next to impossible. Live spiders would never enter your mouth on purpose! There is at least one documented case of a live spider found inside a boy's ear and a dead one in his other. It's unknown how the spiders got there. 17. Ostriches don't bury their head in the sand. Period. That's just a myth. 18. There are several insects that can look backwards, like spiders and flies. Chameleons and seahorses have eyes that rotate 360 degrees, and independently so they can see both forward and backward at the same time. Parrots and rabbits can see behind because their eyes are positioned on the side of their skulls. Many ungulates (hoofed animals), like horses, deer, antelope, etc., also have this ability. 19. Mr. Travolta said, in an interview about the movie Hairspray, that he has only turned down three leading roles: A Chorus Line, The Phantom of the Opera, and Chicago. I found a site that says he also turned down An Officer and a Gentleman and American Gigolo, among others. I couldn't find evidence that he was offered the part in Tootsie. 21. White glue is used in breakfast cereal ads as a substitute for milk. Such photography is staged because milk appears too watery (thinned down) otherwise, and no one wants to take a picture of soggy flakes either. Cream, instead of milk, is most likely used in commercials. I couldn't find any evidence that thinned paint was used. Cream is whiter and won't appear watery like milk, it's much easier to clean up and it could be digested if it gets in your mouth. 24. Coca-Cola is clear without the caramel coloring. It has never had any other color. The coloring was added to hide the impurities that may have been introduced during the process of making the batch. The others appear to be true. The best thing for this kind of research it's Snopes.com.
I always use it when something sounds odd. But those were not really rumours. Good job Rusty! ![]()
