Frasco = Flask
Bottle = botella
Hip = cadera
Pocket = bolsillo

Am I correct?

A flask is una petaca over here. Frasco means jar.

Dad, will you help me open this olive jar?

Petaca is exactly the name for a pocket bottle. I have forgotten about that one. Don't use one. :^)

Cantimplora = Canteen.

Petaca = flask.

So la anforita is a smaller version of la ánfora, right? Meaning a hip flask that holds 8oz. would be...which?

Also, what about the yucky-sounding word nalguera for a synonym?

"Ánfora" has a broad meaning, but the word "anforita" is used especifically for a hipflask, because it's small enough to fit in the back pocket of pants or in the inner pocket of a jacket.

I don't know where "nalguera" is used, but I guess it's the back pocket what would give it that name. For what I see in the DRAE, that might be the same origin for "petaca", since that's a slang word for the buttocks too, but I definitely have never heard that word used for a hipflask in Mexico.

I saw the word here

http://articulo.mercadolibre.com.mx/MLM-474475039-cantimplora-nalguera-de-8oz-acero-inox-_JM

so maybe it's a regional usage; I certainly don't plan to adopt it myself, much preferring to say la anforita as you mentioned.

@Glen: I see. I really have never heard the word... but I have never known anybody who would actually use one either.

Although it's possible to drink from a "frasco", I think you are rather thinking of a "botella".
