Cateto entrañable

in Wiki España a biography of the late film actor Paco Martínez Soria describes him as a "Cateto entrañable", which in the English translation appears as "Affectionate bumpkin"; I would employ "Lovable Rustic". However research in a number of dictionaries (including diccionario de RAE) produces no reference to either word at all!

Has anyone here heard of these words or is the author of the Wikipedia entry misinformed?

I agree that 'Lovable Rustic' works, perhaps more in the UK than in the US, but would use 'Lovable Country Bumpkin', 'Lovable Hick' or 'Lovable Local Yokel' here (there are a few other synonyms for 'bumpkin' that could be substituted).

Since 'affectionate' is also a synonym of 'lovable', as is 'endearing', that gives us a number of possibilities, including the translation in the biography.

(I found both Spanish words in two online dictionaries, but failed to find them in DRAE as well.)

cateto (meaning paleto) are both españolismos

entrañable is common educated language (looking up the DRAE, in this case the word has an extended meaning: entrañable means that the person is so lovable or nice that s/he inspires physical manifestation of affection, you would like to hug or kiss that person)
