What are the cognates between Swahili and Spanish?
This summer I'm taking Arabic classes at the local mosque, but I've recently purchased a few books for myself which happen to be materials for Swahili learning.
I'm aware the Arabic language had influence upon the Spanish Language as well as the Swahili language, but I was curious if there are any Arabic-derived cognates between the two languages. Are they significant, or are they rather weakly distributed between the two languages? If anyone has a clue, I'd appreciate their knowledge.
