My proposal:
Como un niño que planta una semilla y sale cada día a ver si ya germinó. Or: Como un niño que planta una semilla y sale cada día a ver cómo crece. "Vegitación" is not a Spanish word... maybe you meant "germinación" ("...y sale cada día a comprobar la germinación") "Acrecentamiento" is more used when you gather or accumulate things. The word here is "crecimiento" ("...y sale cada día a comprobar su crecimiento")
