I'd say that's a matter of style. You can save the second "ella" if there is no confusion with whom you're talking about.

I'm no expert and I have a few doubts about this, so I'll let someone else who will know more to correct them, but on principle, this is what I understand about equivalents.
![]() apertura/abertura (la) del diafragma (el) - aperture apertura/abertura (la) - F-stop obturador (el) - shutter velocidad (la) del obturador - shutter speed ASA (el) - ISO (although ISO should be understood among professionals) exposición (la) - exposure profundidad (la) de campo (el) - depth of field enfoque (el) - focus luz (la) difusa - diffuse (like diffused light) alta velocidad (la)/baja velocidad (la) - fast and slow (like the speed of the ISO or the speed of the shutter) zoom (el) - zoom (la lente) gran angular - wide angle lens grano (el) or maybe granulado (el) - grain aparato (el) de medida (la) - meter ![]() telefoto (el) - telephoto

Thanks for those, Malila! VERY helpful!! Just a quick grammatical question...... If the word "foto" is feminine (la foto) because it's short for "fotografia" ... why isn't something like "telefoto" also feminine? Hmmm....

@Lou Ann: I've always heard "telefoto" as a masculine, but searching a little, it seems it should rather be "la telefoto" and "el teleobjetivo". In my humble opinion, there might be two origins for this mistake: 1) For Mexicans, "lente" is usually a masculine, and "telefoto" refers to the lense; and/or 2) There might be some confusion of both words --"telefoto" and "teleobjetivo".
![]() No justification for such an error though. ![]() @Brute: It would be easier if you proposed a list like Lou Ann's, so there are propositions for the Spanish words. ![]()
