Generalization vs Specific

Hello. I have a Spanish final tomorrow, and I had one question on my mind. If I want to describe something specific out of a larger group (for example, apples), would I say:

Las Manzanas son ricas.

If I were to be talking about all apples, would I say:

Manzanas son ricas.
