Hola, Jferstler,
"Lo siento mucho. Tuve una noche muy mala, pero le prometo que lo tendré para usted el lunes" (This is formal, to a client) A more casual, informal version, "Lo siento mucho. Tuve una noche muy mala, pero te prometo que te lo tendré listo para el lunes". (What is "it" referring to? A job due?) Otherwise, these are a couple of options you can use.

Then you'll need to use another pronoun. Homework, in Spanish, is la tarea, a feminine noun. When you replace the noun with a pronoun ('it'), it must agree in gender and number with the noun it replaces. Look in the second sentence and replace 'lo', the direct object pronoun used for a singular masculine noun, with 'la'. This is the DOP for a singular feminine noun.

Should it be "como se dice en español"?

@Vita: Actually, "¿Cómo...?"
@Jferstler: A common request from students in Mexico is "No pude traer hoy la tarea, pero se la traigo el lunes". (I couldn't bring the homework today, but I will bring it to you on Monday).

Close. Use the 'Accents' drop-down menu (again) for the new word you added, please. The dictionary spelled the word with another letter than you did.
The word you chose would be correct if you didn't use the noun form. It should be an adverb, so remove the article. |
