Using 'avisar' with subjunctive?
Hi all.
Which of the following is more appropriate: Los científicos avisan que los cambios meteorológicos continúan. Los científicos avisan que los cambios meteorológicos continúen. I would say the subjunctive use is more appropriate but my practice book disagrees. Is this a typo or am I getting the usage mixed up? Any advice or comment is appreciated |

In the provided example, the meaning of avisar is 'to let know, warn about' (dar noticia de algún hecho).
This meaning of the verb doesn't incite the usage of the subjunctive. The scientists are letting us know that the changes are continuing to happen. You can have a look here for a discussion on the topic. |
