ser y estar con participios

Hola a todos:

¿Me pueden decir cuándo hay que usar "ser" y "estar" en estos casos, por favor?

Estoy cansado(a)
Es debido a...=se debe a
Está basado en....=se base en....
Está formado por.....=se forma por.....
Está usado
está siendo usado=se usa=se está usando
Dijo que no había estado cocinado
Está diseñado para.....=se les diseña a.......
Está abierto=se abre
Estaba abierto
Fue abierto=se abrió
Fue construido por.........=se construyó por.........
Estoy contratado(a)
Necesita saber cuando fue contratado(a)

¿Existe una regla?

Muchas gracias

Sí hay reglas. Estar significa «to be in the state of». En otras palabras estar refiere a una condición o un estado. Ser refiere a una cosa mas integral, mas permanente.
All the sentences you presented are completely correct but in many cases, the sentences can be used with the other verb but with different meaning. For example: «La ropa está usada» means the clothes are used as in second hand. But,«Está ropa es usada por negócio» These clothes are used for business. Ser refers to something inherent, while estar refers to something temporal. I hope this helps.

Thank you very much

¿En este caso se usaría ser o estar o el impersonal para una regla?

Se usa el adjetivo para decribir un sustantivo

o

El adjetivo es usado para decribir un sustantivo

o

El adjetivo está usado para describir un sustantivo

Regards

The first sentence is the safest one but it is ambiguous. The second sentence sounds awkward but it is correct if it is inherent for the adjective(meaning adjectives in general) to decribe the substantive. The third sentece sounds good, but it describes a particular adjective in a particular circumstance.
