...in Mexican Spanish... I think nobody else uses "ahorita" as "right now".

"Ahorita" is not much used here in the South, but it doesn't convey the idea of instant action. It's not a 'right now' or 'right away' but more the notion of 'I'm on it, but at my own pace'; I mean, it comes more often from a delay in finishing some action. "Ahorita se lo termino", dijo Tranquilino Pérez (el hombre 'inmune' a las úlceras gastroduodenales).

Good to know... many foreigners I know tend to make fun of the use of "ahorita" in Mexico.
