Escolarizar vs. educar
I want to say that it is vital for a country to educate all children.
Do I say "educar a todos los jovenes" or "escolarizar a todos los jovenes"? Or is there a better way to say it than either of those choices? Thank you!!

"Jóvenes"
"Educar" has a broader meaning than "escolarizar" in Spanish. "Educar" implies both, good raising in the family and in society and to provide them with proper schooling. "Escolarizar" only refers to teaching and instruction in schools.

Fantastic! Thanks!! So when you are talking about an education system, in a very broad scale, like in a nation, how do you refer to that?

"Escolarizar" or "permitir a los jóvenes el acceso a la educación" maybe.

Great! I might come back to this thread in the next couple of days - I am trying to write a philosophy of education as an essay in Spanish.
