Now, what is a pretty young thing like you doing speaking the Dirty Man’s Language? (http://notalwaysright.com/fun-with-language-barriers/482)

David,
It's funny. I have heard "talk English" and even "talk American". I have responded, "The day you learn to speak English, I'll talk American."knowing full well that neither would be possible. Of course the anger that provokes people to make these comments is disturbing.

Wow, it's really funny if the old man doesn't have a gun in his pocket, or in a closet at home. Otherwise, it can be worrisome.
Maybe one of the main differences between our two, three, four, five or six cultures (generally speaking) is that people can solve a problem like this just laughing at the man, if you are sure he's not crazy enough to have a gun.
How easy it is to get a gun in the States is what frightens me the most.
Mad people are everywhere, disarmed or not.
If it is just a fool ranting, you can laugh at him.
By the way, yesterday night I watched Ben Hur on TV. Every Easter this film is programmed on TV. Charlton Heston was young and seemed to be a good guy.

Something frightens you, but you fear something.
Remember that people is plural in English: people are, people go...
Easter is the name of this holiday.
And there was something else that I have forgotten, but I think I have corrected enough things this time.:good:
Charlton Heston has always seemed like a nice guy to me, I think Michael Moore took advantage of the fact that he is mentally unstable now (doesn't he have Alzeimer's?)

Thanks for your corrections, Iris! I will edit my commentary.
For sure, Charlton Heston is mentally unstable, and NRA chose him to be its president. I don't think Alzheimer's got anything to do with being supporter of guns. Neither I think Michael Moore needed to take advantage of any illness, but just to show the opinions Heston holds.
I like his films, but I can not think about him like a good guy.

I don't think Alzeimer's got ANYTHING to do...

Charlton might not have been a really good guy but he was a good moviestar. Did you ever see Touch of Evil ? Es inpresionante. Iris, you're right, he's got Alzheimers.
Alfonso,
Tengo que corregirte. Ecribiste "otherwise it can be worrying". Usa, otherwise it can be worrisome. Escribiste "the easiness to have a gun"
Usa, how easy it is to get a gun. Escribiste "yesterday's night". Usa
yesterday night.
Escribiste, "It just can be a fool shouting you can laugh at" Usa, If it's just a fool shouting (perhaps ranting would be better) you can laugh at him.

I haven't seen Ben Hur for years, but I still have the video somewhere at home. I watched "Seventh Heaven" with my daughter (her name is Iris by the way:D). It's an American series about a pastor and his family. Quite soppy, but I love it.BTW, did you see Ben Hur in English?

LOL,
Iris, I thought you were talking to a non-existing person (maybe you had gone nuts).
Nice to meet your daughter.
No, I couldn't watch it in English. I would have like it. I enjoyed it like never before. I knew every shot, but I was anxious to see Mesala to die... (what a criminal thought).
Poli, I don't think I ever saw Touch of Evil. Let me see, I'm not sure what film this is.

Alfonso, I have corrected your text, but I don't know if I have done it well. What is LOL? And it seems you don't have a very good opinion of my sanity...

Touch of Evil was filmed in Black and White 1959. It was directed by Orson Welles. It deals with a contemporary and controversial subject matter-- border diputes between US and Mexico. It's very cinematic.
Heston does not use his usual bravado here. Caution: It is not for children unless they are very mature minded.

OOPS! I forgot to write this in Spanish

Thanks a lot, Iris! You did it superb!
But it will be easier for any of us to see your corrections if you do them in a different colour. When editing, you have a capital A over a black line, on the above part of the editing box. If you open this tab you will be able to choose a colour among those of the rainbow (el arco Iris ;)).
LOL stands for lot of laughs. Jane told me. Afterwards, I've seen it written in forums and chats. Do you use this, Poli?
Iris, if you want to speak about your sanity, you will have to open another thread ;). But don't worry, my opinion of yours is a very good opinion. What do you think about mine?
OK, Poli, I know the movie you speak about. In Spanish it's called Sed de mal. Of course, it's a really good movie. Heston doing a kind of Mexican sheriff. Yes, I love it.

Thanks for your explanations about editing. A pestaña in this context is a tab. And yes, I'll probably need another thread or a private message to talk about your sanity (just kidding!):)
