lo que suelen hacer todos los institutos. context is the class are going on a field trip to a place. Does lo mean beautiful . i know todos is everyone and hacer is to do .
my guess. going to do everything ?? :confused:

"what all the institutions use to do" ("institutos" may be "educational institutions", "high schools" or even "asylums" or "the congress, the chief executive and the supreme court" -no pun intended-)

The verb soler carries the idea of typically, commonly, habitually,...
In the context you give instituto sounds like it might be a specialty school teaching a foreign language, or photography, or accounting...
