The actual quotation from Benjamin Franklin's Poor Richard's Almanac is:
A penny saved is a penny dear.
It is often misquoted as:
A penny saved is a penny earned.
You can find the Spanish equivalent here (http://www.tomisimo.org/idioms/en/a-penny-saved-is-a-penny-earned-3928.html), in our Idioms section (which also contains proverbs and sayings).
