Depends of contexts and region. in Chile could mean what nachoarg said or that he/she wants to escape with him/her, (steal) etc. i cannot think of the word in English at this moment... :/

I would say 'I want to merge with you' is a basically good translation of the phrase, but it is closer, sometimes, to 'I want to get hot with you'. Context dictates the translation.

Elaina, there is a very romantic song that reminds me of this phrase that was first song by Pedro Infante and Trio Los Panchos that is called "Amorcito Corazón" "Yo quiero ser un solo ser y estar contigo."
