I understand it as "lose pull" in the sense of "pull" as in "influence, as with persons able to grant favors".
Depending on the context, if you say that "007 va a perder tirón si cambian a Craig" you can say that the box office is going to go down... people will not feel as attracted to it...
(Do you have some context for this expression? Otherwise, what I am telling you should work...) Right?

I would have guessed that it meant to lose your turn, but your definition makes better sense.
