I think in US Spanish renta is OK.

Just be careful that your context is clear, because "renta" can mean either income or lease.

I think in US Spanish renta is OK.
The context pertains to a city-wide ordinance protecting rent control (which a politician is trying to remove). So what would be the best way to say "Protect Rent Control in (name of city)"?

Protejamos (los alquileres controlados/la renta controlada). "Renta controlada" is the name of "rent control" treated as a legal institution, only in US-Spanish and some scattered regions of the Caribbean Rim.

Más bien "Protejamos la ley del control de renta/alquiler/arriendo"
