That's the new definition. It's similar to a nerd, but stranger. The original
geek was in the circus side show. The geek's specialty was biting heads off live chickens. The geek's associates were sword swallowers, glass eaters as well natural phenonomenonals like pinheads and hermaphrodites. There's a toned-down freak show currently in operation in Coney Island, but its appeal is limited.
